The Town of Tecumseh provides a Tecumseh Snow & Leaf Angels Program (Program).
The Program offers assistance to senior residents and persons with physical disabilities to clear snow from municipal sidewalks and driveway entrances, as well as raking and collecting leaves.
The Program matches volunteer snow shovellers and leaf collectors, known as Snow and Leaf Angels, with eligible seniors over the age of 65 and persons with phyisical disabilities living in the Town. Volunteers are encouraged to respond within twelve (12) hours after a snowfall, consistent with the Town's Snow Removal By-law, and would also be required to provide their own equipment.
The season runs from late October to late March, annually.
The Program is truly "the neighbourly thing to do" and is a great way for families to volunteer together, or for high school students to complete their 40 hours of community service.
Both Volunteers and Residents are required to complete an application. Residents looking for assistance must provide proof of eligibility requirements [i.e. 65 years of age or older, or a person with a physical disability]. Please find below the Tecumseh Snow & Leaf Angel Resident Application Form and Volunteer Application Form.
