Tecumseh Oldcastle Hamlet Settlement Area

The Town has retained the services of WSP to assist in the preparation of the Oldcastle Hamlet Special Planning Study for Future Development Lands within the Oldcastle Hamlet Settlement Area, in accordance with the requirements of the Tecumseh Official Plan.

The planning study will determine the preferred and appropriate mix of land uses for the 104 hectares (257 acres) of land currently designated Future Development. The purpose of the study is to determine the preferred and appropriate mix of urban land uses for lands designated Future Development within the Oldcastle Hamlet Settlement Area

Current Phase of Study

As part of Phase 3 of this Study, the "Oldcastle Hamlet Special Planning Study: Final Land Use Report, December 2025" was prepared and received by Town Council by way of Report DS-2025-29. This report includes details regarding public and agency consultation, key study area constraints, and a preferred land use plan.

Public Consultation Events in 2026

An Open House was held on January 20th, 2026 to offer the public the opportunity to review the details of the Final Land Use Report. A copy of the Open House display boards are availble for review.

A Public Meeting, in accordance with the Planning Act will be held on February 10, 2026. Details of the meeting, and how one can provide comments, are provided in the Notice of Public Meeting.
