Garbage and Recycling

Update: Effective August 28, 2024, EWSWA is no longer responsible for recycling collection.                

• Circular Materials will be the new program administrator across Ontario 
• Green For Life Environmental Inc. (GFL) will provide residential curbside collection
• Collection containers must be out by 6:00 am on collection day

The Collection Calendar provides useful information and the collection schedule for garbage, yard waste and recycling pick-up. Calendars are mailed out to Tecumseh residents at the end of January of each year and copies are available at Town Hall 917 Lesperance Road. 

You can also download the Recycle Coach App to receive regular reminders so you never miss another collection. 

Collection Reminders

• Place your garbage, yard waste and recycling out the night before your scheduled collection day.
• Timing of collection routes may vary, so GFL may not arrive at the same each week.
• Place your bins on the curb or end of driveway - never on the road !

White Goods

White Goods are large household items that are primarily made of metal, such as but not limited to: hot water tanks, BBQs, metal sinks, fridges, stoves and dishwashers. Collection is available free of charge to residential properties only on a monthly basis.

Non-Collectable Waste

The following items are not collected and must be disposed of at one of the drop off locations listed below: 

• Electronics, including Televisions, Computers, DVD players, smartphones etc. 
• Renovation debris 
• Toilets, bathtubs and non-metal sinks 
• Animal waste
• Chemical and paint products
• Medical waste and syringes
• Tires
• Concrete and bricks
• Explosives
• Used motor oil
