International Women's Day

March 8 is International Women's Day (IWD)—a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and girls. It is also a time to reflect on the progress made in advancing women’s rights and to recognize the ongoing efforts needed to ensure full participation in all aspects of society. 

The Government of Canada’s theme for IWD 2025 is "Strength in Every Story." This theme emphasizes the importance of amplifying the voices of all women, particularly those who continue to face barriers. By creating opportunities for women and girls, we unlock potential, drive innovation, strengthen our economy, and build a more inclusive future. 

The Town of Tecumseh is committed to supporting women in our community by fostering and promoting leadership opportunities and ensuring equitable access to resources.
