Arbour to Southfield Watermain Extension Notice of Construction Commencement

The Arbour Street to Southfield Drive Watermain Extension project is expected to begin November 18, 2024, weather permitting, and continue until mid December. This work consists of a looped watermain connection from the Arbour Street cul-de-sac, through Southfield Park to Southfield Drive and all required restoration works. To facilitate construction, the south portion of Southfield Park, including the pedestrian sidewalk and gazebo sitting area, will be closed. Adjacent sidewalks within proximity to the project along Southfield Drive and Arbour Street cul-de-sac will also be closed. The Tecumseh Transit Southfield Park Westbound bus stop will be temporarily out of service. Bus users are advised to use the bus stop at Southfield Drive and Tecumseh Road intersection for the duration of construction. 

Lane/road closures along portions of Southfield Drive may be required and as a result, vehicular traffic may be impacted for short durations by use of construction flaggers. Nearby residents and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution, avoid fenced and barreled areas, and follow all posted construction signage. A portion of the cul-de-sac will also be closed off for the duration of construction. Any water service or driveway access interruptions will be coordinated with affected residents on-site.
