Town of Tecumseh Marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day
The Town of Tecumseh observes International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27 by lowering the flag at Town Hall to half-mast. This solemn act honors the memory of the more than one million victims of the Holocaust who perished at Auschwitz-Birkenau and other concentration camps during one of history’s darkest chapters. January 27, 1945, marks the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp , and in 2005, this day was designated as the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. It serves as a reminder of the horrors of anti-Semitism and the importance of standing against hatred in all forms. The Town of Tecumseh encourages everyone to reflect on this day and honor the resilience of Holocaust survivors while committing to fostering inclusivity and understanding in our community.
