Arena Restoration

The Town of Tecumseh looks forward to welcoming everyone back to the Tecumseh Arena on September 3, 2024.  The renovations continue to proceed and to ensure safety, we are temporarily limiting access to the rinks, dressing rooms and public washrooms only. The main front entrance, lobby and concessions will not be accessible for approximately six weeks.

User groups are required to access the rinks as outlined below. Please follow posted signage.

Main entry to all rinks -
West side door through to Rink A
Dressing room assignments will be posted on a whiteboard at this entry
Proceed to dressing rooms through stands

Access to Rink B –
West side door through to Rink A
Proceed to dressing rooms through stands
Spectators assisting players/skaters may proceed to seating area along south side of rink
Spectators not assisting will enter/exit through Rink B South/East exterior man-door 

Important Information:

Public lobby washrooms will be available but only accessible through Rink A doors. 

Showers will remain unavailable due to ongoing supply chain issues. Showers will be available once outstanding equipment arrives and is installed

Doors to dressing rooms will be delayed due to supply chain issues, please avoid bringing valuables into the dressing room

Benches in the dressing rooms remain a work in progress and chairs will be used in the interim

To ensure pedestrian safety, parking is NOT permitted on the grass. We require all vehicles to use the parking lots and be aware of pedestrians accessing the arena.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience through the renovations. We will provide further updates as the renovations progress.  We look forward to a completed project and know that the community will appreciate the significant transformation to the facility.

We are pleased to share the latest progress on the Tecumseh Arena restoration. Work continues to move forward, and we appreciate your patience as we complete these improvements. Below are the latest updates and access information.

Current Access and Entry Routes:

• Limited Access: The arena remains open only for rinks, dressing rooms, and public washrooms.
• Main Entrance, Lobby, and Concession: These areas remain closed for ongoing renovations.

Entry Routes:

• Rink A & Rink B Access:
• Enter through the west side door into Rink A.
• Dressing room assignments are posted on a whiteboard at the entry.
• Use the stands to reach dressing rooms.
• Rink B Access:
• Guardians assisting players in the dressing rooms may access the Rink B seating area from the door south of Room 9.
• All other spectators should enter and exit through the Rink B South/East exterior man-door.

Key Updates:

• Showers: Dressing room showers are now fully operational.
• Benches and Doors: Benches have been installed in the dressing rooms, and dressing room doors are now in place. The new doors between rooms will be installed as soon as they arrive.
• Washrooms: Public lobby washrooms are available, accessible only via the Rink A entrance.
• Parking: Please avoid parking on the grass. Use designated parking lots and be mindful of pedestrians around the arena.
• Building Exterior: The additional work has started. During this phase of the project, the main doors will remain unavailable for use to ensure safety requirements are met.
