Ensure you are on the Voter's List

Important Note: If you choose to submit the below form, you will be required to upload electronic copies of identification to confirm identity, residency, and/or citizenship, etc. The Town of Tecumseh is committed to protecting and securing the private information of all applicants and such information will only be reviewed by a limited number of sworn Election Officials.

A staff person from the Clerk's Department will also be calling the phone number provided on the form to verify the information.

How to Use: Electors can use this form to correct any of their personal information as contained on the Voters' List (examples: birthdate, school support, occupancy status, address). Eligible electors not on the Voters' List can also use this form to add themselves to the Voters' List. Before using this form, visit www.voterlookup.ca  to check your information.

Internet and telephone voting will be the sole methods of voting in the 2022 Municipal Elections for the Town of Tecumseh.

A Voter Information Letter (VIL) will be mailed to every Town of Tecumseh elector. It will provide you with instructions on how to vote using either the internet or telephone and provide you with a Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you do not receive your VIL by October 14, 2022, contact the Clerk's Office at 519-735-2743 or visit the Tecumseh Town Hall

Voting starts on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 8:30 am and ends on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 8 pm.

Why Internet and Telephone Voting?

There are many advantages to internet and telephone voting and they include but are not limited to the following:

Accuracy: Internet and telephone voting uses electronic ballots effectively reducing counting errors from manual tabulations.

Automatic Tabulation: 100% of the results will be available shortly after 8:00 pm on October 24, once all voters have completed their voting (if they logged in before 8:00 pm).

Convenience: There are many non-resident electors that do not live in Tecumseh year round and they should have equal opportunity to vote just as those who live here. Every elector will be able to vote from a location of their convenience. Also, voters will no longer need to find a postal box, or rely on Canada Post to ensure that their ballot is returned back to Tecumseh Town Hall.

Emergency Preparedness: Voting by internet or telephone does not require any large gatherings at polling stations, and allows voters to vote from the comfort and safety of their home if future emergency stay-at-home orders are issued.

Efficiency: reduces printing, return postage fees, staff time for vote counting, and the amount of paper utilized.

Accessibility: Internet and telephone voting is a convenient option for electors allowing them to use their own devices and access their ballots anytime during the voting period, and from anywhere with Internet or telephone access.
