Water and Wastewater Master Plan

The Water and Wastewater Master Plan is Tecumseh's strategy for providing water and wastewater services to residents and businesses. The Plan ensures water and wastewater systems meet current and future demands and are able to provide safe, cost-effective and reliable services to the community. The Town reviews and updates the Plan to accommodate growth and be at the forefront of best practices.

The 2018 Water and Wastewater Master Plan Update builds upon information contained within the previous 2002 Water and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan, the 2005 amendment to the Water Servicing Plan, and the 2008 Update to the Water and Wastewater Master Plan. This Master Plan Update Study Report has been completed in accordance with the Municipal Cass Environmental Assessment (Class EA) - Approach 2 Planning Process for Master Plans, which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act, and will satisfy Phases 1 and 2 of the planning process.

Public and review agency consultation is a key element in the Master Plan process. A Public Information Centre was held on June 19, 2018 to introduce the study, provide background information and context, guiding policies and the preliminary preferred water and wastewater servicing strategies.

By this Notice of Completion, the Class EA Master Plan Update Study Report will be on public record for 30 calendar days in accordance with the Municipal Class EA document. Subject to comments received as a result of this Notice, the Town of Tecumseh intends to proceed with implementation of the recommended Schedule A, A+ and B projects as outlined in the Class EA Master Plan Update Study Report.
